#buildingPLR Why "Not Like Us" can't play in my store...
Millwork gets sent for construction to assemble
Let’s do the Cliff Notes version of things, to get caught up. Another update comes tomorrow!
(and if you don’t know what Cliff Notes are, you’re too young)
October 28: We ordered Rockbot - a music player that plays on-brand tunes without us ever having to calibrate it.
There are no ads; no decisions we have to make; and there are never inappropriate songs coming out of it - as much I want “Not Like Us” to play on repeat.
The “Rockbot Media Player” device costed us $149 upfront, and the monthly subscription is $25/month, paid a year in advance at $300.
It’s required by corporate; and we really like it. Thanks to Elise Kowan for helping us through this process.
October 29: Our managers Mel and Alben start hosting job fairs leading up to our opening.
We need 25-30 part-time staffers to have a full team in place.
November 1: There were some pieces of equipment that belonged to Roll Em Up that we could not use; and found a franchisee who needed it for their opening.
We packed up taquito fryers, the ice machine, the orange tables and chairs, the stoves and various other items and sent them to a good home.
November 5: Mike Lucke at MSW Store Rollout Services shipped out our millwork, and Kristeen Moon at STMCO puts it together.
Below are some renderings (HOW IT STARTED) followed by the end result (HOW IT’S GOING).
Front counter area:
Wall to hide and create distance from the bathroom.

Tada:
November 14: We got our business license.
November 15: We have ADT set up our motion detectors and cameras all throughout the store. Thanks to our sales rep Gary Whittington, who actually serviced the Roll Em Up before we converted, and took care of the transition.
The system set up was $970, with a monthly charge of $114.06.
I’ll be sharing the total start-up cost of this conversion after I post about our opening.
